Nasrein Sheikhyusuf

A recent addition to the organization with a background in IT and network essentials, now shifting her focus to a career in healthcare. She oversees the organization’s social media platforms to engage and influence the broader community. Her primary motivation for joining RUH is to bridge the cultural and spiritual aspects of the Somali community with contemporary society. She looks forward to seeing the results of the collective efforts of all RUH members

Zainab Abdul

is a licensed social worker with a background in mental health counseling and care coordination services. Subsequently she became an official member due to her drive and passion for the growth of the Somali community. She is actively involved in engaging group members in organizational and collective participation. Her direct work with the Somali community in the mental health field aligns with and is inspired by the RUH mission statement. Additionally, she focuses on bridging cultural and generational gaps among community members and implementing educational interventions

Sahra Abdul

As one of the original members of RUH and an event coordinator, Sahra Abdul finds this organization incredible for Somali youth due to its dedication to strengthening their customs and traditions. RUH’s vision is to preserve the cultural and religious values of the Somali people, beginning with the youth. Her initial initiatives focused on raising drug awareness among young people, recognizing the risk of losing one’s essence, or “ruh,” in that process. She then moved on to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the written Somali language. Sahra is excited about the future of the organization and what they will achieve next

Hafsa Ahmed

a published poet and dedicated activist specializing in creative writing. As the Vice Chair for RUH, she blends her precise experience with the organization’s values and mission. She has a flair for crafting engaging content that resonates deeply with community issues. Her work combines artistry with activism, providing a voice to the stories that emerge right from our backyard
